Gert Emmens, born on December 12, 1957, in Haastrecht, Netherlands, is a Dutch artist known for his work in electronic music. Emmens' early interest in electronic music led him to create his debut album Light the Light in 1995. His breakthrough came with the release of Obscure Movements in Twilight Shades in 2003, which he performed live at the E-Live electronic music festival at the Technische Universiteit Eindhoven. This performance was a significant success, leading to an invitation for another concert the following year. Emmens continued to release albums, including Wanderer of Time (2003), When Darkness Falls Upon the Earth (2005), The Nearest Faraway Place Vol. 1 (2008), and On the Edge of Nowhere 2 (2026). He also collaborated with Ruud Heij on several projects, such as Return to the Origin (2004) and Journey (2007). Emmens' work is often associated with the modern Berlin School of electronic music, showcasing his enduring influence in the genre.
