Akihiko Matsumoto is a Japanese composer and music producer, born on February 14, 1963 in Setagaya-ku, Tokyo. He has been familiar with saxophone and flute since his childhood, and in 1981, while living in college, he joined the band "VISION" and started his career as a keyboardist. The following year, he formed the band "Chocolata." In 1986, he began his career as a composer, and in 1987, he produced a song for Koji Yoshikawa, which led to his activities as an arranger and music producer. In 1999, his music for the movie "Odoru Daisousasen The Movie" won the Excellent Music Award at the 22nd Japan Academy Prize. In the same year, his music for the second movie "Bayside Shakedown 2: Rainbow Bridge" also won the same award. In 2009, he was given the music for the movie "Summer Wars", and since then he has also composed music for the movie "Dirty Mind" (2012), the TV drama "Gakko no Kaidan" (2015), and "Rental Messiah" (2016).
