José Fernando Romero Quintero, known as "El Morre" Romero, was born on August 12, 1972, in Villanueva, La Guajira, Colombia. A vallenato accordionist, he was part of the renowned Romero musical dynasty and a former member of Binomio de Oro. Romero began his career performing with Armando Pulido's orchestra on accordion and keyboards. In 1988, he temporarily replaced his uncle Israel Romero in Binomio de Oro while Israel underwent cancer treatment. He won the "Rey Vallenato" title at the Festival Cuna de Acordeones in 1990 and officially joined Binomio de Oro in 1995 as second accordionist, contributing compositions including "Las mujeres de mi tierra," "Tuqui tuqi cha," and "Parrandita parrandón." In 2003, he left the group alongside vocalist Junior Santiago to form their own ensemble. He later collaborated with Jean Carlos Centeno and Ronald Urbina on the album Ave Libre (2006).
