Glen Stace is a Canadian pop and rock singer-songwriter, originally based in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He began writing songs as a hobby while working in mining exploration in northern Saskatchewan. In 1989, he won a local radio "Homegrown" competition with his song "Runaround", which led to him competing in YTV's Rock Showdown series. Larry Wanagas signed him to Bumstead Records, releasing his debut album Buddha Hotel in 1991. The country rock-style album peaked at number 73 on RPM and featured the single "Runaround," which reached number 33 on the Top 40 chart. Stace garnered a Juno Award nomination for Most Promising Male Vocalist at the Juno Awards of 1992. He followed up with Road to Damascus in 1992, but subsequently lost his record deal and reemerged in 2000 with the independently-released album Redemption Game.
