Anthimos Apostolis, born September 25, 1954, in Siemianowice Śląskie, Poland, is a Polish composer and multi-instrumentalist. He co-founded the rock band SBB in 1971, performing internationally and collaborating with Czesław Niemen. After SBB's dissolution, Apostolis worked with groups Dżem and Krzak and in 1989, he emigrated to Greece, working as a studio musician with artists like Vangelis Katsoulis and Giorgos Dalaras. He returned to Poland periodically to record albums with jazz musician Tomasz Stańko. Notable releases include Days We Can’t Forget (1994), Theatro Live (1999), and Back to the North (2006). He also led his own jazz trio, Apostolis Anthimos, Trio and received the Gloria Artis Medal for Merit to Culture in 2017.
