Guglielmo Bottin, known professionally as Bottin, was born in 1977 in Padua, Italy and is recognized for his roles as a composer, producer, DJ, and music scholar. Based in Venice, Bottin's early work includes the album Chill Reception released under the alias Bluecat in 2002. His breakthrough came when he signed with Italians Do It Better in 2008, marking his entry into contemporary space disco. In 2009, Bottin released Horror Disco, a concept album blending nu-disco and cosmic disco elements inspired by Italian giallo movie soundtracks. Notable collaborations include working with Steve Strange and Visage on the song "Poison Within" in 2014. Bottin has contributed to various notable projects, such as the soundtrack for Ana Lily Amirpour's film Mona Lisa and the Blood Moon. His discography spans multiple genres and includes albums like Punica Fides (2014) and I Have What I Gave (2017).
