Joseph Marchand is a Montreal-based composer, producer, and guitarist whose work bridges intimacy, texture, and cinematic depth. Active for more than 20 years, he has become a distinctive voice in Quebec’s music landscape through a wide range of acclaimed projects.
With Forêt, a critically praised band, he explored a sensitive and experimental sound world. Under the pseudonym Joseph Mihalcean, he released a first solo album before collaborating on an EP with Klô Pelgag and Samuel Gougoux. As a versatile collaborator, he has worked with leading artists including Ariane Moffatt, Pierre Lapointe, and Safia Nolin.
Beyond the stage, Marchand is an award-winning composer for film, television, and theatre, with a portfolio that highlights his refined sense of atmosphere and emotion. His upcoming album, Treize miniatures (November 21, 2025), offers a collection of mostly instrumental pieces where space, melody, and sonic textures intertwine, inviting listeners into a world of contemplative beauty.
