Nostradameus, a Swedish power metal band from Gothenburg, was founded in 1998 by guitarist Jake Fredén and singer/ bassist Freddy Persson. Shortly after their formation, they recorded their first demo with Schlagzeuger Gustav Nahlin and guitarist Erik Söderman. In 1999, the band signed with AFM Records and released their debut album Words of Nostradameus in 2000. Following this release, several lineup changes occurred, including the addition of Jesse Lindskog on drums and Michael Åberg on guitar. Their subsequent albums included The Prophet of Evil (2001), The Third Prophecy (2003), Hellbound (2004), Pathways (2007), and Illusion's Parade (2009). Nostradameus toured extensively, performing at notable events such as the Wacken Open Air and with bands like Edguy and Hammerfall. The band is known for their classical, fast-paced power metal style, often compared to that of Hammerfall.
