via-nova-Chor München, a mixed choir based in Munich, Germany, was founded in 1972 by Kurt Suttner. The ensemble initially comprised approximately 45 amateur and professional musicians. Under Suttner's direction until 2008, the choir gained prominence for its performances of contemporary choral works. The choir has premiered over 70 new compositions, including works by Günter Bialas and Karl Amadeus Hartmann. Notable international performances include the Taipei International Choral Festival (2000) and the Sori Festival in Jeonju (2002). The choir won first prizes at various competitions, such as the international choral contests in The Hague (1977), Cork (1985/87), Budapest (1991), and Tolosa (2009). They also received awards at national events like the Bavarian Choral Competition (2009, 2017) and the German Choral Competition (2010, 2018).
