James David Maslow, born on July 16, 1990, in New York City, is an American actor, singer, dancer, and model. He began musical training at age six as a member of the San Diego Children's Choir. Maslow gained recognition for his role as James Diamond in Nickelodeon’s Big Time Rush, which coincided with the formation of the boy band Big Time Rush. The group released their debut album, B.T.R., in 2010, followed by Elevate in 2011 and 24/Seven in 2013. He made his acting debut in 2008 on iCarly and later appeared in The Frozen Ground, Seeds of Yesterday, and the Sony Crackle series Sequestered. Maslow also competed on the 18th season of Dancing with the Stars, finishing fourth, and appeared on the first American edition of Celebrity Big Brother, finishing sixth.
