Jacqueline Ruth "Jackie" Cain, born on May 22, 1928 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was an American jazz singer. She began her musical journey at a young age, performing in school choruses and local radio shows. At 17, she secured her first full-time music job as a singer with Jay Burkhart's band. In 1947, Cain met Roy Kral through fellow band member Bob Anderson, leading to their marriage in 1949 and the formation of the vocal duo Jackie and Roy. The duo recorded nearly 40 albums for labels such as Columbia and Verve. Notable releases include Bogie. Cain passed away on September 15, 2014, at her home in Montclair, New Jersey, from complications following a stroke in 2010.
