Xaõ Seffcheque, born Alexander Sevschek on January 5, 1956, in Graz, Austria, was a musician and screenwriter. He began his music career as a member of the music-performance group Padlt Noidlt in Düsseldorf in 1977. Seffcheque's breakthrough came with the satirical album Sehr gut kommt sehr gut (1981), which parodied the punk and new-wave scenes of the time. He formed his own band, Xao und die Pest, releasing the LP Ja – nein – vielleicht in 1981. Seffcheque also collaborated with Peter Glaser under the name Oravs, producing a split-LP that featured parodies of Fehlfarben songs. In 1981, he co-founded Family 5 with Peter Hein. He passed away on May 26, 2023, in Köln.
