Earlimart, an American indie rock band formed in 1998 in Los Angeles, California, was named after the town of Earlimart, California. The main members were Aaron Espinoza and Ariana Murray. Their early sound, described as "post-punk," drew comparisons to bands like Pavement, Pixies, Sonic Youth, and Sparklehorse. In 1999, they released their debut album Filthy Doorways. Following this, Earlimart released several albums including Kingdom of Champions in 2000, The Avenues EP in 2003, and Everyone Down Here in April 2003. The band's music was featured in various media outlets, with "Happy Alone" from the album Mentor Tormentor appearing in films like Humboldt County (2008) and TiMER (2009). In 2010, Espinoza and Murray collaborated with Jason Lytle and Aaron Burtch of Grandaddy to release an album entitled I Heart California under the name Admiral Radley.
