Mark Steven Doss (born July 2, 1957) was an American bass-baritone specializing in opera, concert, and recital from Cleveland, Ohio. Doss originally entered Saint Joseph's College to become a priest before graduating with degrees in music and sociology. He earned a master’s degree from Indiana University and debuted as Khan Konchak in Prince Igor. In 1986, Doss joined the Metropolitan Opera and won the International Verdi Competition in Busseto. Doss performed with international companies including La Scala, Vienna State Opera, and the Royal Opera House. His repertoire included roles in Carmen, Faust, and Aida. In 1993, Doss received a Grammy Award for the recording of Semele. He served as an associate professor at Michigan State University between 1995 and 1997. In 2011, he was honored with the Planet Africa Entertainment Award.
