American mezzo-soprano Rebecca Jo Loeb has carved a distinguished operatic career, blending exceptional vocal artistry with a dynamic stage presence. A graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and New York’s prestigious Juilliard School, she also honed her craft as a member of the Tanglewood Music Center’s Young Artist Program in Massachusetts. Her talent was recognized early on when she won first prize in the 2008 Lotte Lenya Competition, hosted by the Kurt Weill Foundation. Rebecca Jo Loeb gained initial performance experience in university productions and at the Glimmerglass Festival before beginning her European career. In the 2010/11 season, she was awarded a scholarship at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, where she made her debut as the Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte. The following year, she joined the ensemble of the Hamburg State Opera, a position she has held since 2011.
