Kamakazi, a Canadian punk rock band from L'Île-Bizard, west of Montreal, Quebec, formed in 2006. Inspired by French-language punk rock bands, Kamakazi released a demo on Myspace in 2006, which caught the attention of Jessy Fuchs at Slam Disques. The band signed with the label in January 2007 and released their debut album Tirer Le Meilleur Du Pire in 2008. The album included top 25 BDS hits like "Pars Mon Engin" and "Isa." Their tour for this album spanned 140 shows from February 2008 to December 2009. Kamakazi's second album, Rien À Cacher, was released on in 2011, featuring hits like "Fou De Toi" and "Je Me Souviens." The band won the "Best Rock Album of the Year" award at the ADISQ Gala.
