Rytmihäiriö is a Finnish metal band formed in 1988 in Helsinki by Kalle Ellilä, Ande Kiiski, and Otto Luotonen. The group developed a signature style known as "surmacore," which blends hardcore punk with thrash and death metal. They signed with Spinefarm Records in 1990 and released their debut studio album, Surman siipien havinaa, in 1991. Following several lineup changes, the band disbanded in 1992 but reunited in 1998 with Unto Helo eventually joining as lead vocalist. Their second album, Saatana on herra, was released in 2005. The group achieved a chart breakthrough with Seitsemän surman siunausliitto in 2006, which reached number 36. Subsequent successful albums included Sarvet, sorkat, salatieteet in 2008 and Surmantuoja, which reached number 6 in 2010. Rytmihäiriö continued to release critically acclaimed work such as Todellisuuden mestari in 2013 and Gambinapsykoosi in 2018. Their eighth studio album, Surmacore, was released in 2023 and reached number 12.
