Rebekah Higgs, born on May 19, 1982, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, is a Canadian indie-rock singer-songwriter. She released her debut EP Road to Eden in 2005 and her self-titled full-length album in 2006. The latter was re-released in 2007 and nominated for the 2008 East Coast Music Awards for best female solo recording and best new artist. In 2010, Higgs' music video for "Parables" received an ECMA nomination for Best Video. She toured Canada from 2006 to 2012 with her band, which also performed as Ruby Jean and the Thoughtful Bees. In 2011, she released Odd Fellowship. After becoming a single mother, Higgs moved back to Halifax and founded Matriarch Productions in 2017, creating the television show DIY MOM.
