Christine Schornsheim is a German harpsichordist, organist, and pianist born in 1959. She studied at the Berlin Special Music School from 1969 to 1976 and graduated from the Berlin Conservatory in 1982. Schornsheim served as a répétiteur at the Hans Otto Theatre in Potsdam between 1982 and 1983. She taught harpsichord and continuo at the Leipzig Conservatory from 1988 to 1992 and was appointed a professor of harpsichord and pianoforte in 1992. She made her debut as a pianoforte accompanist for tenor Peter Schreier in 1994. Schornsheim received the ECHO Klassik award in 1999 for her recording of three concertos by members of the Bach family. In 2002, she began serving as a professor at the Munich Conservatory. Her discography featured the Goldberg Variations (1994) and the 2005 complete collection of the keyboard works of Joseph Haydn, which received a Diapason d’or.
