RareForm is a pioneering Drum & Bass act founded in 1997 by composer and producer Gary J Robinson. The project's distinctive sound quickly gained traction, resonating beyond genre boundaries and earning recognition across the global Dance Music scene.
New Vision Recordings was launched in 1999 to showcase his productions as well as remixes by Bassline Smith, Spirit, and Total Science, gaining support from legendary DJs Fabio, Grooverider, Hype, Kenny Ken, and Randall. The label's second single, Spinechilla, put the project firmly on the map after a test pressing landed in the hands of Goldie. He championed it in his DJ sets, turning it into a 90s DnB classic. It was famously featured in the BBC drama EastEnders and later heard in Big Brother, Power Rangers, Skins, The Oprah Winfrey Show, and The Shield.
Throughout the years, he worked alongside a number of prominent artists, including Ant TC1 & Stress Level, Doctor P & Swan-e (AKA Slumdogz), Dope Ammo and The Advocate, while remixing tracks for mainstream acts such as QB's Finest featuring Nas, Sonna Rele, the Sugababes and Mexican pop legends Sussie 4. A remix of Dillinja’s Tudor Rose for Mampi Swift’s Darklight LP remains a standout moment.
He continues producing, collaborating and keeping the signature blend of raw energy and soulful depth alive. He also went on to create The Death Beats, a multi-style pseudonym that has made waves in clubs, films and TV soundtracks.
