Brian Kellock, born on 28 December 1962 in Edinburgh, Scotland, was a Scottish jazz pianist. He graduated with a B Music (Hons) from the University of Edinburgh in 1986 and quickly established himself as a prominent figure in the UK jazz scene. Kellock collaborated with notable musicians such as Herb Geller, Sheila Jordan, and Art Farmer. From 1995, he was a member of Australian trumpeter James Morrison's band. His main project was the Brian Kellock Trio, which originated as the rhythm section for the John Rae Collective in 1988, featuring Kenny Ellis on bass and John Rae on drums. This lineup released their first recording together, Something's Got to Give, in 1998. Kellock passed away on 27 May 2025 at the age of 63.
