Miklós József "Jackie" Orszaczky (May 8, 1948 – February 3, 2008) was a Hungarian-Australian musician, arranger, and producer. Born in Budapest, Orszaczky studied piano and violin starting at age five. In 1965, Orszaczky formed the rock band Új Rákfogó before joining the jazz-fusion ensemble Syrius in 1969. Syrius toured Australia in 1970–1971 and recorded the album Devil's Masquerade. After returning to Australia in 1973, Orszaczky joined Bakery and later served as musical director for Marcia Hines. His solo discography featured the debut album Beramiada (1975) and the single “Let’s Go and Make It” (1976). Orszaczky established the groups Jump Back Jack and The Godmothers, and developed a signature high-tuned piccolo bass in the 1990s. He provided arrangements for Savage Garden and The Whitlams. In 2006, the Hungarian government awarded Orszaczky the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit. Orszaczky died in Sydney in 2008.
