Minuit was an electronic band from New Zealand, formed in Nelson in 1998. The group consisted of lead singer Ruth Carr, Paul Dodge, and Ryan Beehre. Initially a guitar band, Minuit transitioned to electronic music after Beehre introduced a sampler. Their early releases included four self-released EPs, such as Sonic Experience (1998), Silver (1999), Luck (2000), and Except You (2002). In 2003, Minuit signed to Tardus Music and released their debut album, The 88, which achieved gold certification in New Zealand. The band gained prominence when "Species II" was used as the intro for the TV show Queer Nation. Their subsequent releases included The Guns EP (2004), The Guards Themselves (2006), and Find Me Before I Die a Lonely Death.com (2009). Minuit toured extensively in New Zealand and Europe from 2006 to 2008. Their album, Last Night You Saw This Band, was released worldwide in 2012.
