GrĂ¡inne Hambly, born in 1975 in Knockrickard County Mayo, Ireland, is an Irish traditional harpist. She began her musical journey playing the tin whistle as a child and later learned the concertina and harp. In 1994, she won the All-Ireland senior competition in Clonmel on the concertina and secured victories at the Harp Festivals in Keadue the same year and in Granard in 1995. GrĂ¡inne Hambly's educational background includes a bachelor's degree and master's degree in Music from Queen's University Belfast, as well as a graduate diploma in Education (Music) from the University of Limerick. She released her debut album Between the Showers in 1999, followed by Golden Lights and Green Shadows in 2003. Her work includes performances at international concerts and festivals, and she has performed with ensembles such as the National Folk Orchestra and the Belfast Harp Orchestra founded by Janet Harbison.
