Ilja Reijngoud, born on July 5, 1972 in Leiden, Netherlands, is a Dutch jazz trombonist, composer, and arranger. He began playing the trombone at age eleven and later joined Guus Tangelder's Bigband. Reijngoud graduated cum laude from the Conservatorium Hilversum in 1996. He founded the trombone department at the Rotterdam Conservatorium in 1998 alongside Bart van Lier and others. Reijngoud released his debut album New Arrival in 2003, featuring the composition "No Substitute", which won him a Thelonious Monk Award. He performed at the North Sea Jazz Festival in 2003 and continued to release notable albums including The Shakespeare Album with Fay Claassen (2007), and Around the World with Elizabeth Simonian (2012). His 2015 album Goldie Meets Silver paid tribute to Horace Silver, and in 2020 he released Home. Reijngoud contributed to over a hundred albums and performed with prominent artists such as Herbie Hancock.
