Ernesto Palacio, born on October 19, 1946, in Lima, Peru, is a Peruvian opera singer and opera agent known for his lyrical tenor voice. He began vocal training with Rosa Mercedes Ayarza de Morales and Alejandro Granda before studying in Milan. His breakthrough came in 1972 when he won the first prize at the "Voci Nuovi Rossiniane" competition and debuted on the radio as Lindoro in L’italiana in Algeri. Palacio performed at venues such as La Scala, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, and the New York Metropolitan Opera. His discography included notable recordings like Rossini: L’italiana in Algeri with Marilyn Horne, and Maometto II. Palacio retired from performing in 1998 and worked as an artistic agent and the artistic director of the Rossini Opera Festival Pesaro.
