David Chevallier, born in 1969 in France, is a guitarist and composer known for his work in jazz and classical music. He began his musical journey with studies in classical guitar before transitioning to jazz as an autodidact. Chevallier gained recognition through his involvement with the orchestra Tous Dehors led by Laurent Dehors and the Caratini Jazz Ensemble directed by Patrice Caratini. He released a series of albums, including Migration (1992), (Music Is A) Noisy Business (1998), and Pyromanes (2005). Chevallier's work often explores the dialogue between jazz and other art forms, as seen in projects dedicated to Carlo Gesualdo and John Dowland. In 2003, he founded SonArt, his own music company. Notable collaborations include albums with Valentin Ceccaldi such as Zèbres (2018).
