Jill Feldman, born April 21, 1952, in Los Angeles, was an American soprano known for her interpretations of medieval, baroque, and classical music. She earned her musical degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Feldman's breakthrough came with the Alfred Hertz Scholarship in 1980, which allowed her to study under Andrea von Ramm in Basel. In 1981, she joined William Christie's ensemble Les Arts Florissants, where she performed the title role in Marc-Antoine Charpentier’s Médée, an album that won multiple awards, including the Gramophone Award in 1985. She collaborated with various ensembles and conductors. Feldman also taught at institutions including the Conservatoire royal de La Haye and the Haute-école de Musique et Théâtre in Zurich, conducting masterclasses worldwide.
