Shaun Paul Cassidy, born on September 27, 1958, in Los Angeles, California, is an American singer. He grew up in Los Angeles and New York City with his parents Shirley Jones and Jack Cassidy, as well as half-brother David Cassidy and two younger brothers, Patrick and Ryan. Shaun Paul Cassidy's music career began while he was still in high school when he signed a contract with Mike Curb's Curb Records division of Warner Bros. Records. In 1976, Shaun Paul Cassidy released his self-titled debut album Shaun Cassidy, which featured the hit single "Da Doo Ron Ron" that reached Number 1 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and earned him a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist at the 20th Annual Grammy Awards in 1978. His subsequent albums included Born Late (1977), Under Wraps (1978), and Room Service (1979). Notable tracks from these albums include "Hey Deanie", a cover of The Lovin' Spoonful's "Do You Believe in Magic?", and the Todd Rundgren-produced album Wasp (1980) featuring songs like "Rebel Rebel" and "So Sad About Us".
