Kim Jeong-tae (born January 11, 1985), known mononymously as J'Kyun, is a South Korean rapper and singer. Kim first entered the hip-hop scene in 2003 under the name Jung Kyun. After dropping out of Dongguk University, he joined the hip-hop crew Diamond Tribe, which included members JuNi, Freestarr, LEGO, and Marco and Lugar of Mo'Real. The group frequently performed at Club Belly in Apgujeong-dong, where J'Kyun began to hone his craft. In the summer of 2003, he started working on his debut project with producers Marco and Lee-ryung, culminating in the release of his extended play, Just Clap, in November 2005. In 2008, Kim officially adopted the stage name J'Kyun and two years later, he announced his signing with BigDeal Records, releasing his first studio album, Re Birthday, in May 2010. In April 2012, he followed up with his second extended play, These Days, which included the single “Hot MC” featuring Zico of Block B. The EP peaked at number 70 on the Gaon Chart. Over the following years, J'Kyun released a series of non-album singles, including “Ponytail” (“포니테일”) featuring Ken of VIXX, which reached number 93 on the charts in 2013, “Burnt Up” featuring King Kong (2014), “Body Lotion”(“바디 로션”) featuring JYO (2016), “Lit” (2017), and “All Yours” featuring Jero (2019). He continued to expand his discography with several EPs, including Things Get Ugly (2020), Cats, Coffee & Synthesiser (2021), Bon Voyage (2022), and Agape (2024), returning in April 2024 with “Brunch” (featuring SOIN).
