Timo Tolkki's Avalon was a Finnish metal opera project created by Timo Tolkki in 2013. The project, conceived by Frontiers Records' founder Serafino Perugino in 2010, saw its debut album The Land of New Hope released on May 17, 2013. This album featured performances by notable vocalists such as Elize Ryd and Michael Kiske, along with guest musicians Alex Holzwarth and Jens Johansson. The project's second album, Angels of the Apocalypse, was released in May 16, 2014, featuring Simone Simons and Floor Jansen among others. In early 2019, Tolkki announced the third Avalon album, Return to Eden. The fourth studio album, The Enigma Birth, was released on June 18, 2021. Shortly after its release, Timo Tolkki announced the end of the Avalon project following a dispute with Frontiers Records.
