Mario Scarpa, known professionally as Guy Marks, was born on October 31, 1923, in South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He began his career as a singer and impressionist, initially gaining attention through his natural gift for mimicry. His breakthrough moment came when he appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show on May 29, 1960, which led to numerous appearances on popular variety shows throughout the 1960s and 1970s. Marks released two notable albums: Hollywood Sings? As Impersonated By Guy Marks in 1966 and Loving You Has Made Me Bananas in 1968. He also released several singles, including "This Is Forever / How The West Was Really Won" and "Volare". His impressions of celebrities such as Humphrey Bogart, Gary Cooper, and Boris Karloff were highly regarded. Marks appeared regularly on shows like The Merv Griffin Show, The Dean Martin Show, and The Mike Douglas Show. He also had notable roles in television series such as The Joey Bishop Show and Rango, and made a memorable appearance in the 1975 film Train Ride to Hollywood. Marks passed away on November 28, 1987.
