Volker Haidt, known professionally as Florian Haidt, was born on November 29, 1958, in Krauthausen, Germany. He began his music career at the age of 18, performing as a singer and guitarist in various bands. His solo career commenced in 1982 under the name Florian Haidt with the release of "Rote Rosen, rote Lippen, roter Wein", a cover of René Carol's 1952 hit. This single entered the German charts in January 1983 and peaked at number 42, earning him an invitation to the ZDF-Hitparade. In 1983, Haidt also released "Kiddy Kiddy, Kiss Me" as part of the group The Raiders, a cover of Rita Pavone and Paul Anka's 1964 hit. Throughout 1984, he released several solo singles, including "Zaubermelodie", "Ich will, wenn ich wüsste, dass ich darf", and "Champagner oder Selters", all of which qualified for the ZDF-Hitparade. Haidt's music career was marked by his ability to cover popular songs from different eras and genres. Concurrently, he pursued a successful career in radio broadcasting, starting with Radio Luxemburg and Welle Nord in Kiel before moving to RSH and later Radio SAW in Sachsen-Anhalt. He co-hosted the morning show Muckefuck and was recognized for his work with awards such as the RADIOJournal Rundfunkpreis in 2003 and the Deutscher Radiopreis in 2011. Haidt passed away on February 9, 2017, following a brief battle with cancer.
