Martin Joe Dine was born in Montmorency on February 1st 1992. He started playing piano
at the age of 6, taking private lessons with several teachers.
At age 16 he was admitted at the "Jazz a Tours" school where he studied
ethnomusicology, jazz theory and history, small and big band arrangement, harmony,
piano lessons with Guillaume de Chassy and attended workshops for two years. Following
his studies, Martin came to Paris and studied an additional three years at the Conservatory
of Paris with Emile Spanyi, Philippe Poussard, Carine Bonnefoy and Benjamin Moussay.
Martin Dine has received the second prize of the «Saint Germain des Près» competition at
the Sunside Jazz Club (Paris) and has recorded his first album as a leader, titled «Wario»
and featuring Darryl Hall, Rémi Vignolo, Baptiste Herbin and Maxime Berton.
In 2012, Martin travelled to New York to plays series of trio gigs in few jazz club of the city.
In 2013, he wrote the original soundtrack for Patrizia Mariani's documentary for the
german-french TV channel ARTE. During 2013, Martin Joey Dine has played with famous
french rapper Taïpan. (Bomayé Music)., then, he won the Piano Forté international jazz
piano competition.
In 2014, Martin recorded with his band (MushRoom-Beat) his second album as a leader
titled «Copperfield» featuring Nicolo Ricci, Rodolphe Lauretta,Tim Campanella, Gael
Petrina, Alexis Kasinos, Othello Ravez and a full classical orchestra.
Since the age of 13, Martin has performed regularly on many stages in Paris, Orléans,
Tours, New York and Lisboa, in solo or with his own projects.
Since 2015, Martin Joey Dine is studying at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam (The
Nederlands/NL).
