Susan Dunn, born July 23, 1954, in Malvern, Arkansas, is an American spinto soprano known for her operatic performances. Her early musical experiences fostered a love for singing, leading to her first solo performance at age five. Dunn began piano lessons at six and later studied vocal music under Harold Thompson at Hendrix College.Dunn's professional career began in the early 1980s, debuting as Aida with the Peoria Civic Opera in 1982. She won several prestigious awards, including the Richard Tucker Award in 1983 and the Grammy Award for her recording of Verdi’s Requiem with Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony in 1989. Dunn performed at renowned venues such as Carnegie Hall, La Scala, and the Metropolitan Opera.
