South Korean pianist Sunwook Kimn, born in Seoul, South Korea, on April 22, 1988, made a royal entrance on the international scene when, in 2006, he won first prize in the Clara Haskil Competition and, at just 18, first prize in the Leeds International Piano Competition. His reputation established, he travels the world giving recitals in Paris, London and Berlin, alone or with great conductors such as Mark Elder, John Eliot Gardiner, Vladimir Ashkenazy or Marek Janowski. In 2014, he released his first recording of Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor", with Myung-Whun Chung. The composer's cycle continues in 2017 with a second volume featuring sonatas no. 8(Pathétique), 14(Clair de lune) and 23(Appassionata).
