Didier Jean Maffre, known professionally as Didier Sandre, is a French actor and theatre director born on August 17, 1946, in Paris. He began his acting career in 1968 with L’Échange by Paul Claudel. Throughout the 1970s, Sandre contributed to various public theatre productions. His work extended to private theatre productions, including roles in Partage de midi (1990) by Paul Claudel and Becket ou l’honneur de Dieu (1999) by Jean Anouilh. In 2013, Sandre joined the Comédie-Française and was named a sociétaire in 2020. His filmography includes notable works such as Le Conte d’automne directed by Éric Rohmer and Memory Lane by Mikhaël Hers. He received several awards, including the Molière for Best Actor in 1996 for his role in Un Mari idéal by Oscar Wilde.
