Linda Gambino, born in Italy but raised in USA, Washington D.C. first, then New York, Boston and Los Angeles and then back to Italy and traveling to so many more countries with her parents as a child. Certainly being bilingual was key to developing her singer and songwriting skills as an adult . In those years she started listening to jazz, soul and blues, from the radio or from the tv or in the shops and this shaped and formed her music taste and knowledge. Years later she attended Berklee College of Music in Boston with a few of her friends musicians where she deepened her passion for jazz and the divas like Ella, Sarah, Betty Carter to name a few.
Once back in Italy she started performing live in Rome, her hometown.
In 2013 she started releasing her own original music, commercial music, and collaborating with different international producers and musicians.
A couple of years later she won an online songwriting contest with a producer from Nashville which brought her to traveling to the States again and writing and releasing more songs there.
Jazz still remaining her passion, she decides to improve her skills and dives back into studying inspired by some amazing contemporary jazz singers like Veronica Swift, or even more so, Samara Joy who are bringing back a more traditional, classic style in their performances.
“Unexpected”, Linda’s new album is the natural expression of this musical evolution.
