Roland Douatte, born on December 7, 1921, in Paris, France, was a French conductor and violinist. As an autodidact violinist, he founded his own chamber orchestra, the Collegium musicum de Paris, in 1952. Douatte was among the first conductors to promote and popularize works such as Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons and other Baroque compositions like Symphonies pour les soupers du Roi to Delalande. From 1963 to 1968, he served as the musical director of the Festival du Marais. Douatte passed away on December 16, 1992, in Tours, France.
