Stacy Dean Campbell, born on July 27, 1967 in Carlsbad, New Mexico, is an American singer-songwriter known for his contributions to country music. He began performing as a teenager around Oklahoma University and later moved to Nashville. In 1990, he signed with Tree Music as a staff songwriter and released his debut album on Columbia Records in 1992. Three singles from this album charted on the Billboard Country Singles Chart, including "Rosalee". His follow-up album was released in 1995, also under Columbia Records. In April 1999, he shifted to Warner Bros. Records and released Ashes of Old Love, which peaked at number 3 on the Americana Music Chart. Campbell co-wrote Trace Adkins' single "I'm Gonna Love You Anyway" in 2000. He left the music industry in 2001 to become a police officer and author, publishing his first novel Cottonwood in 2004.
