Wataru Maeda (born April 23, 1965 in Atsugi City, Kanagawa Prefecture) is a singer-songwriter with a rock-pop-folk style who made his debut in 1985 as the vocalist of the band "TUBE." He began his solo career in 1987 and made his solo debut in 1990 with the single "D-A-M-E. His representative albums include "SMASH" (1989), "Change of Pace" (1990), "Hard Pressed" (1997), and his first best solo album "Single Collection +" (2007). He has many hit songs such as "Try Boy, Try Girl" (1993), "Kimi no Mamoru no Tomorrow" (1997), and "Koi no Nota" (2007), and "Try Boy, Try Girl" became a million seller. He won the Best Album Award at the 57th Japan Record Awards for his TUBE album "Your TUBE+My TUBE".
