James Jeffrey Weider, known professionally as Jim Weider, born on December 21, 1951, in Woodstock, New York, is an American guitarist known for his work with The Band. He began playing guitar at age 11. His early career included studio sessions in Nashville and Atlanta, and touring with Johnny Paycheck and Levon Helm. In 1985, he joined the reformed version of The Band, replacing Robbie Robertson. With The Band, he performed at Roger Waters' The Wall concert in Berlin (1990) and Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary celebration. He co-wrote songs for all three of The Band's albums released during his tenure, including "Remedy" from Jericho. Following the group's dissolution in 2000, he continued performing with artists like Mavis Staples and Los Lobos. He formed The Weight Band in 2013 and released albums including World Gone Mad (2018).
