Mariam Karolina Riahi Wallentin, known professionally as Mariam The Believer, is a Swedish musician and voice actress born on July 28, 1982, in Örebro, Sweden. She began her musical journey as a vocalist and percussionist in the local soul band Carnival, with whom she released an EP (1999). Wallentin studied at the Högskolan för scen och musik (Academy of Music and Drama) in Gothenburg from 2006, where she met Andreas Werliin and formed the duo Wildbirds & Peacedrums. Wallentin released the debut album Blood Donation (2013) under her experimental solo project. She was honored with the Jazzkatten award for Musician of the Year in 2013 and received a scholarship from the Sten A. Olsson Cultural Foundation in the same year. Other notable releases include the album Love Everything (2017).
