Simone de Macedo e Oliveira, known as Simone de Oliveira, was born on February 11, 1938, in Lisbon, Portugal. She is a singer and actress with Portuguese and Belgian heritage. Simone began her music career at the end of the 1950s and achieved early success by winning the Grande Prémio TV da Canção Portuguesa 1965 with "Sol de inverno", which she performed at the Eurovision Song Contest 1965, placing thirteenth. She won the Grande Prémio TV da Canção Portuguesa 1969 with "Desfolhada portuguesa" and represented Portugal again at the Eurovision Song Contest 1969 in Madrid. Throughout her career, de Oliveira has released numerous albums, including A Voz E Os Êxitos (1966) and Nunca Mais A Solidão (1974). She also participated in the OTI Festival 1980 with "A tua espera" and has had a notable acting career.
