Harlem Shakes were an American indie rock band from New York, formed in 2006 and consisted of Lexy Benaim, Todd Goldstein, Jose Soegaard, Kendrick Strauch, and Brent Katz. Before signing with Gigantic Music, they released their first EP, Burning Birthdays, in 2007. In March 2009, Harlem Shakes released their debut full-length album, Technicolor Health. The band disbanded in September 2009 following a hiatus after the release of their album. After the group's disbandment, Todd Goldstein continued producing music under the name ARMS and Brent Katz pursued his solo/side-project Thunder & Lightning.
