Grooveminister, also known as Groove Minister, is a German rap duo consisting of Martin Warnke and Ralph Suda. The duo formed in Lüneburg during their studies in Kulturwissenschaften in the 1990s. Initially performing under the name Torrianis, they were discovered by producer Peter Hoffmann, who produced their debut album Im Hause der Frau Gallenberger, released in 1995 on Ariola Records. The duo's breakthrough came with the release of their first single "Verdient", which reached number 47 on the German singles chart. This success led to subsequent releases, including the albums Raus mit der Sprache (1997) and Das Maß aller Dinge (1998), both also released on Ariola Records. Notable singles from these albums included "Wieder ohne" (which peaked at number 80 in Germany). Grooveminister's music blended rap and pop elements, resonating with audiences across Germany. In addition to their own releases, Grooveminister produced for other artists, including the formation Freistil, Entertainer Hape Kerkeling and Michelle. Martin Warnke passed away in 2019, marking the end of an era for the duo. Despite their relatively short span of activity, Grooveminister left a lasting impact on the German music scene.
