Walkin' Large was a German hip‑hop duo formed in Wuppertal, Germany, comprising South‑African rapper Onosizo Sibongiseni Ngcala and Eritrean DJ Constantin Arey. After Onosizo Sibongiseni Ngcala’s upbringing in Cape Town and Constantin Arey’s early years in Asmara, the pair met in the mid‑1990s and began releasing singles such as "In Here (Refreshed)" and "Like Big Foot" in 1994, followed by "Reachin' (For My People…)" in 1995 and "Listen to This" in 1997. Their debut album Self was issued on 14 September 1998, featuring tracks like "The Rise" (feat. Brooke). In 1999, a collaboration with rapper Brixx produced the single "Boy Meets World" (feat. Brixx), which entered the German singles chart and peaked at number 50, remaining on the chart for seven weeks; this became the duo’s only charting hit and final release before the act disbanded. Walkin' Large’s career, though brief, contributed to the early German old‑school hip‑hop scene, and their 1998 album Self remains a reference point for the genre’s formative years.
