Calypso Valois, born in 1982 or 1986 in France, is a French pop singer and actress. Raised by her mother Elli Medeiros and father Jacno, who separated when she was two years old, Valois began her musical journey at 4. She adopted her stage name as an homage to her grandmother. Valois' initial foray into music came with the duo Cinema, formed with Alexandre Chatelard in 2014. They released one album before disbanding. Encouraged by Étienne Daho, she pursued a solo career, releasing her first EP Le Jour/Jeu Flou in January 2017. Her debut album, Cannibale, followed in October of the same year under the label PIAS. In addition to her music career, Valois has acted in several films, including Après Mai (2012) and Personal Shopper (2017).
