Leichenwetter, a music group from Iserlohn, Germany, was founded in 1996 by Dawe on guitar and Numen on vocals. The duo aimed to revive the works of deceased German poets through unconventional musical interpretations. Their initial release, Nachtwerke, came out in 1998, followed by the EP Schönheit ist rauh in 2001. Leichenwetter's second album, Urworte, was released in 2003 and marked a significant milestone in their career. The group signed with Metal Axe Records in 2005, releasing Letzte Worte that year and Klage in 2007. In 2010, they released Legende, which saw the band abandoning their long-standing use of masks during performances. Their subsequent album, Zeitmaschine, was released in 2011 along with a live DVD titled Zeitreise.
