Fred Nøddelund (April 1, 1947 – August 18, 2016) was a Norwegian jazz flugelhornist, composer, arranger, and producer. He established his career as a young festival composer at Moldejazz in 1970 with the work Atlantis. Nøddelund led various ensembles featuring prominent Oslo musicians and served as a conductor for the Asker and Kolsås big bands. His extensive session work includes contributions to Per Elvis Granberg’s Real Rock'n'Roll (1973) and Jan Eggum’s self-titled 1975 album. In 2005, he released the solo album In the Shade of a Sea, recorded with the symphony orchestra of Latvia. Nøddelund received the 1982 Gammleng-prisen and the 1983 NOPA Work of the Year for “Early winter morning”. He also served as the bandleader and a jury member for the 1986 Melodi Grand Prix. Nøddelund died in 2016.
